Manufacturer Warranty Guidelines & Protocol

Oscar Schmidt guarantees every instrument against defective materials and craftsmanship from the original retail purchase date. This guarantee applies exclusively to the original purchaser through authorized dealers and verified commercial procurement channels.

At our discretion, Oscar Schmidt will repair or replace any defective instrument or component part. Factory service mandates presenting an official Proof of Purchase or sales receipt alongside the original serial number.

Coverage Exclusions

To preserve manufacturing accountability and ensure fair commercial servicing, the following situations remain exempt from factory warranty claims:

• Instruments altered, customized, or repaired after initial dispatch from the factory.
• Serial numbers that have been defaced, modified, removed, or rendered illegible.
• Damage resulting from extreme temperature changes, excessive dryness, or improper ambient humidity storage.
• Issues caused by accidents, shipping mishandling, unauthorized modifications, or neglect.
• Routine wear and tear on consumable parts including strings, frets, tuning pegs, pickguards, and plating finishes.
• Products procured from unauthorized resellers, liquidation brokers, or second-hand marketplace channels.
• Freight, customs duty, and transit insurance charges incurred when returning instruments to factory centers.

Authorized Factory Service & Logistics

If your instrument requires technical evaluation, adjustments, or component replacement under warranty, first contact the authorized distributor or retail dealer where the order was originated.

Important Notice: Prior to dispatching an instrument for factory inspection, securely remove all personal items, accessories, picks, tuners, and cables from gig bags and cases. Oscar Schmidt holds no liability for supplementary items left inside returned equipment.
